Follow Friday - 13/04/2012

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison can read. Each week participants are given a prompt. This week's is:

Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

There are so many possible answers to this question! I think it's very hard to translate a good book well to the silver screen: there are so many things in a book that you can't have in a movie. I'm going to go with Warrior Daughter by Janet Paisley.

It's not a very well known book, I know. It's about one of the Celtic Queens of Britannia who stood against the advancing Roman armies. There's so much nudity and sex in the book that I don't think they could ever make a good film of the story without changing its whole essence.

How about you? Leave a comment with a link to your blog and I'll be sure to pop over and leave a comment in return when I get home this evening!

Happy hopping and have a great weekend!

  3. LOL yeah it's annoying when they censor books to appeal to younger audiences- I like sex, nudity, violence, gore...especially when it is relevant to the story!

  4. You are so wright. Most of the books should not go on the big screen. And especially these kind of books. LOL.

  5. Hi! I'm a new follower hopping by!

Lovely answer! I think as long as the author has a voice and participates in the decisions needed for the movie, the movie will turn out fine.

  9. I haven't heard of this book, but honestly, if they could do the nudity and sex in Game of Thrones, I don't see anything stopping them with this one LOL

  10. Hey, I was upset about "One for the Money." No one asked me if I thought Sandra could pull it off. So sad, I haven't even watched it yet. Hey I don't even know if that is its name.
