Weigh in Wednesday 1

waight-1

Weigh in Wednesday is a meme started by Lauren over at Epilogue. Each week participants weigh in on a certain topic and give their opinions.

This week:

E-book Vs. Print Book

My answer:

It's only recently that I've started reading ebooks with a vengence. I like to keep a happy medium between the number of books I read and the number of print books that I read.

Ebooks are good for introducing me to authors I never would have discovered otherwise. They're also much more concise and they can be carted around in my handbag very easily.

Physical books are great for that feeling for turning the pages and the musty smell of the paper. If I don't read a physical book for too long I start to yearn for that feeling of the pages beneath my fingers. Also, I find that hardbacks are the best looking books - it's just a shame that they're so much harder to read due to their bulk!

  1. For bulk books, I also pick ebooks (if I can find it,) because it's lighter to be brought everywhere. Talking about classics, ebooks are certainly my choice when it comes to Shakespeare's works, since the dictionary is just a click away (and I need it quite often..).

You know? After all this time having a kindle, I've totally forgotten about the dictionary. I always yell out to my husband who is on the computer to look it up. How silly of me to forget!

  3. I totally agree about being introduced to new authors on the ebook. Most new authors only have titles out in ebook format.

  4. I have always loved the look of a hardback book. I also love all of the new authors I have met through e-books.

  5. I love them both, but prefer my kindle!

  6. Awesome points about being introduced to new authors. I will sometimes pick up ebooks when my library won't purchase one and I don't really want to shell out the cost of a hardcover. The ebook is the perfect alternative!
